Tour de Upstairs Bathroom

Sean's sister Kelly came to visit this week and we attacked the upstairs bathroom. The one that had wallpaper on the ceiling...

Fortunately, the wallpaper came off in huge sheets (glue and all). So everytime I came upstairs I just pulled a sheet off and by the time Kelly got here there was one last sheet to pull of the ceilling and we were ready to paint. And paint we did!

The walls went bright white with black stencils things. And the toilet accidentally got a reverse of the sentcil as we were trying to clean it. But it came out kind of perfect and centered so i just left it there. Recognize that mirror?

We'll call this section "details"

The Stencil: This was actually a cake top stencil from a local stencil place. I initially wanted a damask look, but ultimately chose this because it was $9.00 and pretty and graphic.

The lightswitch plate: Stolen from another room. This one was actually an antique bronze like the mirror, but with the help of a can of black spray paint found in the garage its now cute and black.
The New Light Fixture:Typically I don't like/love these hollywood lightfixtures, but they are admittedly pretty cheap ($19.99) and this one seemed a little/lot nicer than the plain shiny silver ones.

Maizey on the Bathmat: Shes mainly black and white right?

I love this bathroom! Especially the shower curtain and stencils. You make remodeling seem fun (we have looked at new and older homes and I am terrified or self-remodeling...)

I LOVE that shower curtain. It would look perfect in my bathroom, which is also black and white. Where did you find it?

Colleen, I got it at Kmart (which I hadn't been to in probably 15 years). I think it was $10.99. Its just thin plastic, but I am using it like its a fabric one and have a liner behind it.
