Happy Valentines Day!
Okay so this isn't really a cookie story either, but my mom got me some really cute valentines place mats so I was inspired to set our little table for a fabulous heart day dinner. NO we didn't actually eat at the table... that would be tooo weird(we totally sat on the couch), but it looked pretty and I got to put out some of our crystal and stuff. I also made Sean his favorite dessert which is a brownie cake with coffee flavored whipped cream icing. I can't say he has bad taste, but in all Valentines day goodness I decided to tint the frosting pink. It turned out PERFECT! I also stole some sprinkles from my sister. I was babysitting CG and raided her stash....I love having my sister so close!

My new passion...
This past weekend we had a Flour Blossoms super bowl party. The founders and our most loyal customers were invited... That means Melissa and I, our parents and their best friends the Jennings. ANYWAY, it was a lovely event with at least 15 varieties of chips and probably 10 dips and fajitas from our favorite Mexican restaurant. AND because it was a special occasion I thought it was the perfect opportunity to make some cake balls.
This is the third time I've made them, and previously I made yellow cake with chocolate frosting, but I had a specific request this time for Chocolate Cake with Cream Cheese icing. I wasn't ready to give up on the original tried and true flavor so I made both. And in an attempt to be a little bit creative, and distinguish between the 2 flavors I made little footballs.
